A Special Event

My girlfriend Jaclyn has a passion for Africa. And kids. So she connected with an orphanage in Africa, and a non-profit Solace International, some connections in the community, and wah-lah! A benefit with silent auction and live auction to boot! Plus a personal chef from Vegas! Tashina was a superb helper with Desmond and Isaiah.
I worked the door, collecting the admission fee and handing out bidding numbers. Chris watched the door for me while I checked out the african dancers, drum music, and the party getting a little wild on the back deck!

Inside, the walls were packed with supporters.

Good friends for life!

Jaclyn did such an amazing job raising funds for Solace. The event itself made over $7,000, and her total to date is over $9,000! We are so proud of you, Jac! What a special channel for your talents!

The Rudnicki's

Ok, So it is kinda cheesey to have a post with just one picture. But this picture is very important to us, moreso the people in it!! Kim and Jon have been such great friends through school and have understood directly what that was like. They never fail to spoil us, even though we really do try to get them back. We were attempting to take their fam out to dinner this night, and due to missed naps, it was easier to go to their house for dinner. This was all fine and dandy except THEY MADE US DINNER!! Homemade pizza dough with all the fixins! (Thus defeating the purpose of trying to spoil them!) Thanks again for a great night of games, laughs, and of course good food! We are thankful for you two! (and your two kiddos who are in bed at this point of the night!)

Jill's Baby Shower

Well us interns just had to meet up again. It has only been a few months! Jill is due in just a few weeks with a little boy, named Elijah! We are all so excited to meet him, and we liked the "excuse" to get together. Lacey flew up from LA, just to wow us with her artistic abilities making play-doh babies! I think that one survived the 2 year old tearing through the place.
Jill always had us beat in the exercise catergory. She is/was a professional triathlete! She is still staying buff while growing that babe!

Sadie, Katie, Me, Jamie

The trek down to Livermore was of course worth it! Sadie and I carpooled, and the time passed by. We all concluded that we were happy to have jobs, but still feel like there is so much to learn. That is a good feeling, I guess. That you always can learn more. I would be so sad if my career was one where you were always confident and knew the answer. That would be so limiting and boring! All of us have now passed our RD exam too! (Carolyn will finish in February!)

Happy Bday Court

Well Court's 22nd came! We went to Mint's Euro-Asian Restaurant and as usual, we were the only customers for most of the night! Below is Robert feeding Dave dessert!
Ava enjoyed a ton of white rice, even though they had already eaten before coming to dinner.

Singing Happy Birthday without candles! We enjoyed the famous Coconut fried bananas with coconut sorbet. Happy Bday court, and hope your year is ama-sing!

Halloween Day

My girlfriend Carolyn and I have attempted to go to a corn maze a few times now. What better day than Halloween? We made it, and it was a little bleak! We thought it would be a little busier, but we literally had the corn maze to ourselves! Kinda scary. There were some pigs that were eating pumpkins and corn and watermelons and who knows what else, they were so cute.
Starting the maze, in a daze...

I anticipated that the fields would all be dead, but they were fairly green. Almost did some "shopping" from the husks on the ground!

After about 20 minutes, we found a tall wooden bridge thing, out in the middle, with stairs leading up to a platform. On top, you could see where we started! It was so far away, and all of the corn blended together so it just looked like we showed up out of nowhere! We used our navigation skills (using the sun) to get back!

Back at her house, she dressed up her dog Alan for their trick-or treaters. What a cute lobster. He wasn't trying to take it off too much!

I had a very relaxing night, and didn't get a single trick-or treater!

Happy Birthday, Lori

We cruised up to P-ville for a birthday bash at the Heuser's. We brought Macaroni Grill for eats. The leaves were all changing on the property, and the rain beetles were out in full force! We toured their motor home, wowo! So nice! Talk about getting big, Michael is doing so well in school, with a slew of A's last quarter.
We always have such a fun time together.

Hope that you had a special day! We missed seeing Uncle Brian, but we will see him soon. Thanks for housing the shin-dig and love you!

Y mucha mas!
