Kitchen sink

I'm mastering the art of blogging on my phone! It's much easier than finding my way to the computer in the den/dog room/future baby room. I'm so proud of my makeshift kitchen faucet I had to share it with you.

Other than needing to fill it up frequently from another faucet it is a dream! Just imagine the spoils of an actual faucet after 2 months. Getting excited I think we are almost there!

Also Owen is quite a basil lover but has merged full force into loving sage. Can't get him to eat a fresh fruit for the life o me but he will take down some fresh herbs...

He even helped me separate the sage stems from the leaves to dehydrate for gifts later. What a helper!

Healthy Heart

The ultrasound was wonderful. We had a fun time with the team members there, our genetic counsellor and tech were quite fun. It was so fun to see the baby's movements coordinate with the screen shots. There's an active little one in there. It was hilarious because we wanted them to find out the sex and write it down in an envelope. The first shot was of the baby's region so we had to look away really fast! Then the tech gave the info to the counsellor who then made us a cute envelope with the info in it. It is still sealed until Sunday when we will open it with family here as well. This was my compromise as I wanted to wait until birth to find out the sex but Chris wanted to know ASAP! After our experience with Owen I wanted to know as little as possible about this baby except that all was OK!

We are looking forward to finding out and getting some planning and further house changes underway. The office/dog room will become the baby's room and the dogs will need to seek other areas for their enjoyment. Also... Where does my prized elliptical go? Ahh! No dogs or elliptical in the bedroom! The computer, etc is already moving into the bedroom. Hmmmm. Buster will likely end up in Owen's room as he goes to bed early.

Happy Day! Happy News! We are celebrating! We also went to Taro's sushi for lunch to celebrate. We used to dine there quite often when we lived in Carmichael so it was like old times.

Halfway there!

I'm pregnant again! It's been an interesting first half of the pregnancy. Tomorrow is our "big ultrasound" where we find out the health of baby #2. We are a little anxious to say the least but of course hoping for the best! Here are a few pictures in the meantime! I'm due 10/17:).

The split prego pic is comparing my belly to when pregnant with Owen! Kinda funny!

Still another few weeks...

On Mother's Day morning our butcher block counter top was delivered. We were able to make breakfast (with an extension cord) on the electric griddle. It was lovely. We have been waiting for over a week on our back counter top. Guess the earliest it will go in is Monday... This is all of a sudden very important as that needs to be installed before backsplash can be started which needs to happen before the range and kitchen faucet go in... 2 of the most important parts of the kitchen if you ask me! We are thrilled with how it looks and just antsy to get it rolling. Chris is going out of town next weekend thus using up potential backsplash laying... My girlfriend Shannon is coming up for the same weekend. Thought we would be cooking but looks like we will continue our salads and thawing. Soon soon soon I keep saying!

Dreaming of Recipes!!

It's getting close I can almost taste it. Pun intended. The kitchen is coming together! I was gone all day yesterday with Owen and when I returned the fridge and dishwasher were moved to their desired locations. This morning I was able to clean off the kitchen table which hasn't been truly cleaned off since April. You read that right, April. It is getting close.

On my list to cook:
Mostly oven stuff since the oven has been out since JULY. Yes you read that one right, JULY! I would like to bake many things, homemade bread, caramel corn, crackers for Owen, granola, and lots of cookies! I can't wait to roast vegetables regularly, and on the range cook artichokes! My mom made a yummy dinner of items I haven't been able to cook: actual baked potatoes, baked salmon, roasted veggies, and artichokes last night. Oh I was sooo full.

The recipes are lining up. We are almost there! Let me know if you need any amazing people to help with any remodel, we used a designer, a custom cabinet maker, an electrician and mason, and P&C's (Paul and Chris) mad skills. I think P&C will take a break after this project, for sure though!

I'm an Auntie!

Aunt Jac (my adopted sister!) had a baby girl on Friday. I was able to be there to witness her labor and birth which was quite amazing. Baby B's sex was unknown so it was even extra special! Chris and Owen had a boys day and I was in the zone for a birth! It was so great, her labor was actually a bit like mine which I was sorry for her... long and slow... But always worth it!

I will leave out the details, but after over 24 hours of labor, Zoey Grace was born naturally and was a little chunker: 8.8 pounds, 20.25 inches, and healthy! Here are some pictures. I miss her and I have seen her 3/6 days of her life so far. Congrats Baxter Family!
