ZZZZ's, Oh how we want 'em

A quick update, Owen is tolerating Bolus feeds with a syringe well... Despite large amounts of gas. We are changing some things up in his blenderized diet, and hoping that that works. We are all still not sleeping. At best Owen will sleep 5-6hours once a week. Other than that he is awake screaming his sweet heart out every 1-2 hours. Even bedtime has evolved to a long charade where Owen will wake up (even from a dead sleep) the second he is laid down in bed, screaming crying like in pain... Between teething, gas, and a recent clinginess likely related to his surgery/hospitalizations, he is not a happy camper. He would prefer to sleep on us or with us 100% of the night. Even then he still wakes up crying. Poor guy. It is rough around here. I remember writing sometime this spring, "I haven't slept since Christmas" and unfortunately we still feel the same. We wake up feeling old, achy, cranky, and groggy, and it is taking a toll on us as well. Chris's stomach has been bothering him, and my back gets worked with my clingy little sweet koala, let alone the exhaustion of no restful nights. We are very hopeful that the dietary changes and teething stopping....sometime soon... will help us all sleep better. We don't know how Owen is getting enough energy to crawl around, chasing the roomba all day.

Other than the lack of sleeping deal, the garden is producing like crazy, needing picking once a day for sure! About 2 baskets of cherry tomatoes every day, still! Owen is experimenting more with putting things in his mouth, and recently has bitten and chewed arrow root cookies, a BBQ chip, and licked ketchup off a toy. Progress! Life is good!

When you say "Life is good!" after two paragraphs summarizing gas, sleeplessness, back pain, and aches, I find myself appreciating your spirit even more.

I didn't know that was possible. We miss you guys (though not your gas [Chris]).

Gotta be happy for health & home, if it be an exhausted happy....

You guys rock. So glad to hear O is doing well, except for the not sleeping part. I know it's different with the feedings, etc., but I'm happy to share any kid-sleep advice I can offer if you're looking for it. Good luck! xo
